In the AL West, the Seattle Mariners placed third baseman J.P. Crawford on the 10-day injured list due to left wrist inflammation.

Pitching Moves and Roster Changes

The Minnesota Twins acquired starting pitcher Dean Kremer from the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. The New York Mets, currently in last place, have begun making moves by trading left-handed relief pitcher A.J. Minter to the Twins in exchange for prospects Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick. The Chicago Cubs placed reliever Gavin Hollowell on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. The Cubs also recalled left-hander Antoine Kelly from Triple-A Iowa.

Injury Concerns and Player Safety

Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras exited Friday night's game against the Dodgers after being struck on the side of his helmet by a 95 mph fastball. Contreras left the game for precautionary reasons. The San Francisco Giants are suspending payment to outfielder Harrison Bader after he aggravated his injured left foot in a scooter accident last weekend.
