Minter to the Twins for infield prospects Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan. The move signals the start of multiple veteran trades for New York, which entered the season with World Series aspirations but sits last in the NL East.

Minter, 32, signed a two-year, $22 million contract with a player option for 2026 before last season. After missing most of 2025 with a lat tear, he returned in late May and posted a 2.35 ERA in 23 innings, though his fastball velocity dipped from 94.5 to 93 mph and his strikeout rate fell from 32.6% to 21.7%. The Twins, one game behind Cleveland for the final AL wild-card spot, acquire a proven reliever for a bullpen that has ranked among the worst in baseball.

Agbayani, 19 and the son of former Met Benny Agbayani, was a 2025 sixth-round pick limited to 10 games by a shoulder injury. Amick, 23, is hitting .217 with 23 home runs and an .820 OPS at Double-A. The Mets are also expected to trade lefty Brooks Raley and starters Clay Holmes and Freddy Peralta before the deadline.
