The Seattle Mariners placed third baseman J.P. Crawford on the 10-day injured list with left wrist inflammation, retroactive to July 30. He injured his wrist while swinging and will miss three to five days, receiving a wrist injection. General manager Justin Hollander noted he expects Crawford to return in a couple weeks. This is Crawford's third stint on the injured list, following prior right shoulder and hand contusion issues. He is hitting .212 with 30 RBIs and 10 home runs in 87 games this season.

Crawford will be replaced by Weston Wilson at third base for Friday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Hollander emphasized the injury is not expected to be long-term. Crawford's 10 home runs rank third in his career, but his batting average and RBIs reflect a struggling season.

The Mariners also recalled infielder Leo Rivas from Triple-A Tacoma. Rivas, 28, is hitting .131 in 38 games with the Mariners this season, including two home runs and a .732 OPS in 13 Triple-A appearances.
