IFA 2026: Anker & iRobot

Anker unveiled a wave of charging gear at IFA 2026, with nearly all of its new chargers featuring built-in displays and several capable of powering multiple devices simultaneously. The company's Eufy security lineup also took center stage, introducing new cameras alongside a robot vacuum and a robot lawnmower. On the audio front, Anker is bringing its proprietary AI chip to the Soundcore Space 2 Pro headphones, part of a broader push into AI-infused headphones, earbuds and hearing aids. The company also debuted MindBase, an AI-powered smart home hub that doubles as a NAS and security guard. Meanwhile, iRobot launched its most powerful robot yet: the $1,199 Roomba Max 875 Combo, alongside the $899 Roomba Plus 678 Combo.

IFA 2026: Huawei

Huawei held a major event in Munich, where the MatePad Pro 12 (2026) made its global debut. The company also brought its nova 16s series worldwide, with the nova 16s Pro featuring a 200MP RYYB camera. On the wearables side, Huawei announced the Watch 6 series as its new flagship smartwatches, joined by the global rollout of the Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro. In China, the MatePad Air (2026) will launch on September 7, reversing the usual global-first dynamic.

Smartphones

The vivo X500 series is set to launch in China this month, with camera specifications officially revealed including a Sony LYT-828 sensor. Leaked renders of the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max suggest a triple 200MP rear camera setup. Indian electronics brand Mivi will enter the smartphone market this month with the Mivi One 5G, following Fire-Boltt's recent entry. vivo also unveiled the T5 5G, featuring a Dimensity 7500 Turbo SoC, 144Hz curved display and a 7,050 mAh battery. Samsung insiders claim the Galaxy S27 Ultra may be built around the Exynos 2700 chipset, with dual-sourcing reportedly under consideration. Meanwhile, Samsung expanded its One UI 9 beta program to the Galaxy S24 series, surprising owners of the previous generation.

Alienware's new 25-inch 560Hz gaming monitor is its fastest ever, using QD-OLED technology. Qualcomm's new Adreno 'Neural Fusion' GPU aims to leverage AI for significant mobile gaming upgrades. Nexus Mods acquired SteamDB, with the community-led site continuing to operate as before but with better resources. Nintendo surprised Switch 2 owners with a free Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update that adds eight-player split-screen to the nine-year-old game. A massive breach exposed digital scans of over 153 million driver's licenses to the dark web, potentially sourced from an ID verification service in Louisiana, with the FBI investigating. NYC public schools have banned generative AI tools for students through eighth grade, taking a year-long pause. Adobe integrated 70+ creative tools into Slack, allowing users to ask Slackbot to handle Photoshop and Illustrator tasks. Google won't be forced to sell its ad exchange following the antitrust ruling, despite a judge determining the company illegally monopolized ad tech markets. Uber launched its first robotaxis in London through a partnership with Wayve, though human supervisors remain on board.
