Xiaomi has confirmed the Redmi Pad 2 9.7, a tablet that slipped into circulation in March and now appears on the company’s Malaysian and Singaporean sites. The device features a 9.7‑inch LCD and offers both Wi‑Fi‑only and Wi‑Fi‑plus‑4G models, positioning it as a mid‑tier competitor in the region’s budget‑tablet market for consumers seeking affordable performance.

Its 9.7‑inch panel runs at 2048×1280 pixels, 120Hz refresh, 240Hz touch sampling, and peaks at 600 nits, delivering sharp visuals even in bright conditions. The screen’s high refresh rate keeps animations fluid, while the touch sampling rate ensures responsive input for gaming or drawing and provides a smooth experience for media consumption and productivity apps daily.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G SoC paired with 4 GB of RAM and either 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. A rear 8‑MP sensor and a front 5‑MP camera round out the device, while a 7,600 mAh battery supports 18W wired charging and delivers sufficient runtime for a full day’s use in typical tasks.

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 ships with HyperOS 3, measures 226.51 × 147.97 × 7.4 mm, and weighs 406 g. Available in Silver and Graphite Gray, the Wi‑Fi‑only version starts at SGD 229 ($179) while the 4G model begins at SGD 269 ($211) in Singapore; Malaysian pricing remains to be announced once the device rolls out locally.
