Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 17 in India as successor to the Redmi Note 15. The highlight is a massive 8000mAh battery, 45% larger than its predecessor, supporting 45W wired and 22.5W reverse wired charging. It also features a bigger 7.0-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

However, compromises include the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, a downgrade from the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Memory options are 6GB or 8GB RAM with only 128GB storage, plus a hybrid microSD slot. The camera setup drops to a single 50MP rear sensor (no 4K video) and 8MP front camera, while stereo speakers become a single unit.
