Today we have the new Redmi Note 17, successor to the Redmi Note 15 and functionally identical to the Poco M8 Power. The series traditionally offers premium features at affordable prices, but this year specs have been dialed back due to the ongoing memory crisis. Design updates include flat sides, a flat 7.0-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, and a simplified camera array in black, light blue, or purple. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip handles daily tasks adequately, though long-term viability concerns remain. The rear camera is downgraded to a single 50MP unit producing usable but unremarkable photos.

The standout feature is the massive 8000mAh battery, delivering up to three days of light use with 22.5W reverse wired charging. Xiaomi's new Power Bank 5i (20,000mAh, 67W, INR 3,299) was also reviewed. Pricing starts at INR 27,999 (6+128GB) and INR 30,999 (8+128GB). However, last year's Note 15 offers better value at similar prices, and the identical Poco M8 Power undercuts by INR 3,000. Full review coming at launch.
