Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi launched two Redmi Note 17 series smartphones in China last week - the Redmi Note 17 and the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The brand is also working on bringing the lineup to international markets, including India, where it's said to debut next month.

According to a tipster, the Redmi Note 17 will launch in India on August 6, with first sale slated for August 11. The tipster claimed that the Indian Redmi Note 17 will come with an OLED display, a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP selfie camera, and an 8,000 mAh battery.

The battery and camera specs are the same as the Chinese Redmi Note 17, but it's unclear if the Indian version's OLED display will also measure 7" diagonally and have a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,396x1,080-pixel resolution. The rest of the specs for the Chinese Redmi Note 17 include the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, Android 16-based HyperOS 3, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The smartphone also supports 45W wired and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
