Google used The Android Show: I/O Edition to reveal that its Quick Share‑AirDrop bridge will soon work on several non‑Pixel Android handsets. The rollout adds OnePlus, Oppo and Honor models to the growing list that already includes the Pixel 10 series, Pixel 8a and the Oppo Find N6. Cross‑platform file swaps between Android and iOS will become far less clunky.

Samsung’s upcoming flagships also join the program. Google confirmed support for the Galaxy S25 series, the S24 lineup, as well as the Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Fold6 and the Z TriFold. Beyond Samsung, the Oppo Find X8 series, OnePlus 15, Honor Magic V6 and Magic 8 Pro are slated to receive the feature, though Google has not disclosed a release calendar.

By unifying Quick Share with Apple’s AirDrop, Google aims to dissolve a long‑standing friction point for mixed‑device households. Consumers will no longer need third‑party apps or cloud links to move photos, videos or documents across ecosystems. The move also pressures rivals to broaden their own cross‑platform sharing tools, tightening competition in the mobile interoperability arena.

With the feature set to land on flagship and mid‑range devices alike, the practical benefit arrives sooner than many expected. Users who juggle Android and iOS can now share large files in seconds, turning a novelty into a daily convenience.
