Commodore International Corporation, revived by tech YouTuber Christian Simpson, unveiled the Callback 8020, a flip phone that sits between a dumbphone and a full smartphone. Running Jolla’s Sailfish OS with an Android Runtime layer, it claims compatibility with 99% of Android apps while blocking Google services. It aims to revive the 80s aesthetic with LTE.

Inside, a MediaTek Helio G81 SoC powers 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, expandable via a supplied 32 GB microSD. The 3.25‑inch main display sits at 480×640, complemented by a 1.77‑inch external screen. A 48MP Sony sensor provides flash‑enabled photography, and a removable 1,550 mAh battery charges over USB‑C. Pricing starts at $499.99, with a premium Starlight version at $549.99 and a gold‑plated Founders Edition at $640.

The phone eschews social media, browsers and email, offering T9‑style texting and curated Commodore 64 games to curb modern app addiction. Its dome‑LED external indicator echoes 1970s Commodore calculators, while five colorways—including Proto PET White and SX Silver—play to retro enthusiasts. At $499.99, the Callback 8020 trades cutting‑edge specs for a controlled, nostalgic experience.
