Meta has launched Muse Code, a terminal coding agent for macOS and Linux currently in beta. Powered by the Muse Spark 1.2 model, the agent is designed to accomplish complete software engineering tasks across large repositories. According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, it can plan changes, write code, and validate results using multiple persistent subagents.

Muse Code functions similarly to OpenAI's Codex or Anthropic's Claude Code, offering skills like /plan, /grill, and /goal. It maintains a local event log to ensure it can resume tasks if a crash occurs. Installation is handled via a single command in the Mac terminal.

Pricing is structured into two tiers. The Standard tier costs $1.25 per 1 million input tokens and $4.25 per 1 million output tokens. However, the Contributor tier offers significant savings—$0.10 for input and $0.20 for output tokens—if users allow Meta to use their data for model training.
