Nikita Bier, X's head of product, is leaving the company just over a year after joining. Bier announced his departure on X, stating he will transition to an advisor role while returning to his "natural state: a poster." During his tenure, Bier was a prominent figure, overseeing significant platform changes such as the "about this account" feature and the overhaul of X's creator monetization program. This initiative included measures against engagement bait and content theft.

Bier cited the demanding nature of leading the app, describing it as a "24/7 job" and expressing a need for a "breather." Before joining X, Bier founded two popular anonymous messaging apps for teens: tbh, which he sold to Facebook in 2017, and Gas, acquired by Discord in 2023. Both of his previous ventures were later discontinued. The company has not yet announced a successor for Bier's position. Benji Taylor, head of design, expressed his commitment to continuing Bier's work while remaining focused on design leadership.
