Microsoft is rolling out several improvements to the Windows Search Box in Windows 11, with members of the Windows Insider program starting to see changes immediately. The goal is to create a more streamlined and useful search experience.

The Home screen has been simplified to reduce visual clutter and improve access to recent searches. Search results will also appear cleaner with increased spacing, allowing for the display of more useful metadata. Users will gain the ability to choose whether to include results from the web and the Microsoft Store alongside local files and apps.

Notably, web searches will no longer feature sponsored content at the top. Microsoft also aims to enhance the search's accuracy for both files and applications. These updates signal a renewed focus on quality-of-life improvements for Windows 11, following efforts with features like Copilot.
