Tesla Reintroduces One‑Year Free Supercharging for Model 3 Premium and Performance

Tesla has revived a long‑gone perk, bundling one year of free supercharging with every new Model 3 Premium or Performance delivered in North America. The offer kicks in immediately upon delivery and can’t be postponed or exchanged for cash. While the promotion is framed as a sweetener, it signals Tesla’s willingness to re‑introduce incentives after ending the lifetime program in 2018.

Historically Tesla briefly restored free supercharging for Model S and X in 2019, but the benefit has otherwise been scarce. For buyers without home chargers, a year of complimentary access could translate into significant savings, especially when congestions fees apply after the battery hits 80 percent during peak times. Commercial‑use vehicles, however, remain excluded from the deal for fleet operators in the market.

Tesla’s disclaimer that the promotion is subject to change underscores the company’s cautious approach to incentives. Owners will still face congestion charges and the offer excludes rideshare, taxi, and delivery services. Those who traded in gas cars for a 2,000‑mile incentive can claim the free year first, then redeem the miles after their first year of ownership in the next.
