Bandai announced a functional Tamagotchi ring — a playable, color-screen device worn on the finger — sparking fan excitement. The ring features three colorways: iridescent white/pink, silver/black, and gold/blue. Pre-orders opened August 27 and run through October 6, but are currently Japan-only with no confirmed international release.

International resellers sold out immediately. Priced at 7,700 yen (~$48), it is the smallest working Tamagotchi yet, smaller than Mini and Nano models. It includes over 30 characters to raise and uses side buttons for control, with front buttons being decorative.

A charging cradle allows play while plugged in. Release is expected February 2027. The author expresses strong desire for the device, calling it a cute gimmick they must have, and hopes Bandai will eventually release a less dorky watch-style version.
