Samsung Health's Sleep Coaching feature is getting a major change that makes it easier to start. Previously, users needed a full week of consecutive sleep data within a month before they could use it. With the new update, anyone with a Galaxy Watch 4 series or later model, a Galaxy Fit 3, or a Galaxy Ring can begin Sleep Coaching with just three days of sleep data from the past two weeks. The update also promises more personalized sleep guidance.

Setup involves a survey about sleep regularity and interruptions, alcohol and caffeine intake, and how satisfied you are with your sleep. Using those answers and the three days of data, Samsung Health assigns a personalized Sleep Animal symbol and builds a four- to eight-week coaching program tailored to your goals. The app adjusts its weekly recommendations as your sleep patterns change, tracks daily sleep satisfaction, and offers daily habit checklists and tips based on behavioral sleep science, such as avoiding screens and caffeine before bed or stretching outdoors after waking up.

Users will also receive more detailed analysis reports. A five-sided Sleep Balance graph displays sleep time, sleep regularity, nighttime wakefulness, sleep satisfaction and an "Energy Score" that highlights areas needing attention. Daily morning insight messages review the previous night's sleep and offer practical advice.

Samsung is also upgrading its Running Coach app for a more "dynamic and connected training experience." Tiers have expanded from 10 to 12 levels to better serve intermediate and advanced runners. The app adds enhanced social media sharing for milestones, personal records and route highlights, plus a new partnership with the fitness platform Strava. Users can import favorite Strava Routes for running, trail running and cycling directly into Samsung Health. The new features begin rolling out this month.
