Pixel phones get easier sharing with tap-to-share

Google is making it easier to share content between Android devices. Starting today, compatible Pixel phones can use Quick Share to exchange contact information, photos, videos, and more simply by bringing the devices close together. The new tap-to-share feature builds on Quick Share but removes friction: from the home screen, pair two devices for instant two-way contact exchange. To share media, open the Share Sheet and bump the phones together.

Availability is limited for now. The feature rolls out starting today for Pixel 6 and newer devices. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are next, with support coming soon. Google plans to expand tap-to-share to more Android devices by the end of the year, making Quick Share a more natural part of the experience when sharing with someone nearby.
