Apple has secured lower prices for OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models, according to industry sources cited by South Korea's DealSite. Apple will pay LG and Samsung around $68 per OLED display for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, down from the $110 to $120 it paid for each iPhone 17 Pro Max display.

Apple aggressively pushed for lower display prices due to the ongoing memory chip shortage, driven by AI data center demand, which has skyrocketed RAM chip costs. By reducing some component costs, Apple can partially offset rising RAM expenses. Even so, the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to be more expensive, with U.S. starting prices potentially rising by $200 to $300.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could start at up to $1,399 and $1,499, respectively. Apple already raised prices on Macs, iPads, and other products in June. Lower display prices may keep the increase closer to $200 rather than $300, but official pricing will be revealed when Apple unveils the iPhone 18 Pro models this September.
