However, the offer auto-renews at full price, so students should set reminders to cancel before renewal. For students outside the US, Google is offering a free year of AI Plus, a basic subscription costing $5 per month that provides access to Gemini Omni and double usage limits, along with 400GB of cloud storage.

This move appears aimed at boosting Gemini engagement and attracting young users to Google's ecosystem.
