Google announced that eligible college students in the United States can receive a free year of Google AI Pro, normally priced at $19.99 per month. The plan includes 4x higher usage limits in Gemini, access to Gemini Spark, integration with Google apps like Gmail and Docs, and 5TB of storage.

Students outside the U.S. can get a free year of Google AI Plus, which offers Gemini Omni, 4x higher usage limits, and 400GB of storage. U.S. students may also opt for a Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium bundle at $8.99 per month, a 70 percent discount, available for up to four years with SheerID verification.

Google introduced a student hub in Gemini featuring study notebooks, diagnostic quizzes, and study plans. Practice quizzes for exams like the SAT, MCAT, and GRE are available now, while generative UIs and interactive learning tools via Lens in Search will roll out soon. Students can sign up for the free AI plan through December 31, 2026, after which standard pricing applies unless canceled. Users must be 18 or older with a personal Google Account and verify student status when requested.
