Waymo announced that its Ojai model driverless vans are now available to all riders in San Francisco, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. The Google-owned company previously offered limited pickups with these purpose-built robotaxis in the same three cities earlier this year. In a social media post, Waymo highlighted the spacious interior and backseat entertainment features of the Ojai vans.

This marks the second expansion announcement from Waymo in the past week. Days earlier, the company revealed it had received permission to operate its driverless cars in Sacramento and San Diego. Notably, despite the model's name, Waymo is not yet available in Ojai, California.

The expansion comes amid mixed recent news for Waymo. After introducing freeway rides in select cities in November, the company suspended highway service in May and recalled vehicles following incidents where its fleet entered closed construction zones. Waymo only restored freeway access to its robotaxis in July.
