Framework pushes Laptop 13 Pro launch to fix touchpad and display issues

Framework is pushing back the Laptop 13 Pro launch by a month to resolve manufacturing problems with its haptic touchpad and custom display. The company halted mass production after discovering issues and informed pre-order customers they can cancel orders for a full refund if they don't want to wait.

The haptic touchpad suffered from a PCB design flaw causing unwanted grounding, requiring a complete redesign. Meanwhile, the display had firmware problems that needed resolution before production could resume. These technical setbacks explain why shipments slipped from late June to late July, with some units potentially not shipping until August.

Framework's modular design actually cushions some of the impact. Orders that didn't include the problematic touchpad or display aren't affected, and the company expects to ship mainboards with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips on schedule. Other replacement and repair modules also remain on track.

The company is also letting pre-order customers modify their RAM configurations. This addresses feedback about LPCAMM2 memory scarcity in the market. Framework aims to have all delays resolved by September, prioritizing hardware reliability over rushing flawed products to market.
