The Framework Laptop 13 Pro introduces significant design changes, including a new "Graphite" finish and a more solid aluminum body. A redesigned bottom case allows for a larger 74 WHr battery, a notable improvement over previous 55 WHr and 61 WHr models, addressing a key weakness of earlier Framework laptops. The expansion module release mechanism has been updated to a more user-friendly retention switch.

The laptop now features a haptic trackpad, replacing the physical click mechanism, and an improved 13.5-inch display with touch support, higher brightness, and better contrast. While these upgrades enhance the user experience, they come at a considerable cost, with no configuration priced below $1,500.

Framework is positioning the Laptop 13 Pro as a "MacBook Pro for Linux users," offering Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as a preinstalled OS option. Internally, the core ultra series 3 board adopts LPDDR5X memory in the LPCAMM2 form factor, a departure from previous DDR5 SO-DIMMs.
