The 18 Pro Max increases to 40 hours, up 14% from 35 hours. Apple also introduced a new real-world usage metric, under which the 18 Pro Max lasts 30 hours and the 18 Pro 24 hours. These figures apply to eSIM models; international versions with a physical SIM tray get 2 hours less video playback.

The iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable, features two battery cells and dual displays. It delivers 26 hours of video playback on the inner 7.8-inch display and 37 hours on the outer display, roughly matching the iPhone 17 Pro. Real-world testing will follow as the Duo launches October 23, while the iPhone 18 Pro preorders start this weekend.
