Apple has unveiled the iPhone 17e, replacing last year's iPhone 16e just 12 months after its debut. The new entry-level model brings the A19 chip upgrade and finally adds MagSafe charging, addressing the biggest omission from its predecessor. Available in black, white, and soft pink finishes, the device maintains the same 6.1-inch OLED display with notch and familiar design.

Internally, the A19 processor delivers performance matching the standard iPhone 17, with two performance cores and four efficiency cores. The GPU features four cores with enhanced Neural Accelerators for improved machine learning tasks. Apple's latest C1X cellular modem provides better wireless connectivity, though mmWave support remains absent. The device retains the 48MP Fusion Camera with 2X telephoto capability, 12MP TrueDepth front camera, and Ceramic Shield protection.

The iPhone 17e starts at $599 for 256GB, with pre-orders beginning March 4, 2026, and shipping on March 11. Battery life reaches up to 26 hours of video playback, while MagSafe charging supports up to 15W—a significant improvement over the previous 7.5W wireless charging. This mid-cycle refresh demonstrates Apple's commitment to keeping its entry-level lineup competitive with modern features.
