Adobe AI survey skews toward social creators, leaving out traditional artists

Adobe unveiled its 2026 Creators' Toolkit Report, surveying 16,000 creators across the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, South Korea, Japan, India and Australia. The findings claim 75% label generative AI as essential and 87% report faster business growth, positioning the technology as a mainstream workflow component.

The survey’s definition narrows “creators” to social‑first individuals who publish digital content several times per month for income. By excluding graphic designers, photographers, filmmakers and other studio‑based professionals, Adobe paints an inflated picture of AI adoption that largely reflects influencer‑driven platforms rather than the broader creative sector.

Respondents acknowledge downsides: 53% say the sheer volume of AI‑generated output makes it hard to stand out, and 42% blame the technology for eroding unique voices. Yet 85% believe the final product still reflects their personal style, and 81% insist human judgment remains vital for taste.

Adobe notes that 60% of creators edit AI outputs extensively before publishing, while 40% claim AI‑assisted pieces consistently outperform organic work. The report also reveals a split in disclosure practices, with nearly half of respondents admitting to labeling AI use and a fifth rarely doing so. These nuances temper the headline‑grabbing statistics.
