Adobe released its 2026 Creators' Toolkit Report based on responses from over 16,000 creators across eight countries, finding that 75% now consider creative AI integrated or essential to their workflow. This marks a significant shift from last year's report, which showed accelerating adoption but not yet full integration.

While creators report that AI tools help them work faster, the technology isn't replacing human input. 57% of respondents say their AI-generated outputs typically require moderate or extensive editing before sharing. This editing burden reflects ongoing concerns about control and quality in AI-assisted creative work.

Creators identified what would make them comfortable with more autonomous AI agents: 44% want review and undo capabilities, 37% seek transparency into AI processes, and 34% desire clear data access limits. These preferences reveal that autonomy without oversight isn't appealing to most professionals.

Despite benefits like accelerated business growth for 87% of creators and improved competitive positioning against larger studios for 58%, challenges persist. 42% say AI-generated content makes it harder for unique voices to stand out, while only 48% feel more secure about their creative future—suggesting the industry hasn't resolved fundamental questions about AI's role in creative work.
