In the war between cursive and print, everyone loses. Meta has revealed the new Instagram wordmark. Apropos of nothing, Adam Mosseri explained it's time for a "cleaner and more modern" refresh. After staring at the new lettering, disgust and confusion mount. It might be corporate ragebait, so let's gleefully comply.

Study the logo's curves and notice how sharply they terminate. Some lines connect while others don't—the consecutive "t and a" stand out, as if to say thank you in a cute British accent, or suggest secret T&A. Appreciate the jarring blend of half-cursive and sans-serif print. Consider if the bottom of the "g" should flow into something. Attempt to make sense of the semi-connected "r."

Now just glance: it says "Instagzam." Those are our initial thoughts on the new Instagram wordmark. Share your own feelings below. What's its most egregious design sin? Or, maybe you like it—in which case, please explain yourself.
