Google Health adds more stats to Today tab

Google Health's latest update, version 5.03, significantly expands the metrics available on the "Today" tab for both Android and iOS users. Previously confined to the "Health" tab, users can now add tiles for a wide range of health data, including heart rate variability, SpO2, skin temperature variation, and blood glucose.

This update also brings improvements to sleep tracking, now counting naps of 20 minutes or longer toward a user's 24-hour sleep duration. The app also addresses inaccuracies for swimmers regarding distances and units, and resolves elevation discrepancies with Strava. For iOS users, this patch brings features like Hourly Activity and customization tools for re-ordering key metrics, features that arrived on Android earlier.

The focus on glanceable data in the "Today" tab aims to improve user convenience and goal tracking. By making more detailed health metrics readily accessible, Google Health encourages users to monitor specific aspects of their well-being more closely. This iteration seems to prioritize feature parity between platforms and a more personalized health dashboard.
