Spotify Managed Accounts Now Free for All Parents

Spotify is expanding managed accounts beyond Premium Family subscribers. Starting today, any parent with a Spotify account can create a free managed account for children under 13.

Initially available in the U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, and Netherlands, with more countries coming. Managed accounts let parents filter explicit content, block artists, disable videos, and keep listening history separate from their own recommendations and Spotify Wrapped.

Children get personalized playlists like Daylist and Discover Weekly, plus their own Wrapped. Accounts are private, use avatars, have no messaging, and don't require kids to have phones. Families can switch accounts on shared devices with PIN protection. Managed accounts are music-only — no podcasts or audiobooks.

Accounts convert to regular Spotify at minimum age with parent approval until 18. Spotify continues gathering parent feedback to improve the feature.
