Spotify has rolled out a set of updates to its Release Radar playlist, giving users more control over the new‑music feed they receive every Friday. The weekly discovery mix blends releases from artists followers already track with singles hand‑picked to match listening habits. Spotify reports that nearly 9 million listeners tune in each Friday, calling the mix a global hub for fresh tracks.

Beginning this month, listeners can tweak the lineup at the top of the playlist in both the app and on the web. The new toggle lets users narrow the stream by genre, focus on new‑to‑you artists, or pick from up to five personalized options, including Discover new artists and Editors’ picks. Three additional slots will adjust automatically based on listening history.

The redesign adds a refreshed header image and behind‑the‑scenes tweaks that aim to sharpen relevance. Spotify says the changes will push the playlist to deliver tracks that fit users’ tastes more tightly.

Spotify also highlighted other discovery tools. New Music Friday now offers editor‑led video recommendations, while Fresh Finds helps independent acts reach new fans. Discover Weekly continues to offer genre customization, and the platform marked over 100 billion tracks streamed from its Monday playlist since launch.
