iOS 26 Makes Apple Passwords My Only Password Manager

Apple's iOS 26 has finally made Apple Passwords the only password manager I need, thanks to three key improvements. After years of using both Apple's built-in tools and 1Password for specific scenarios, I've now consolidated everything into Apple's native app. The transition happened because iOS 26 addressed my biggest pain points with Apple Passwords.

Credit card management was the first major hurdle. Previously, I had to rely on 1Password for full credit card details since Apple's Wallet app only showed the last four digits. Now iOS 26 lets you manually input complete credit card information in Wallet, and the systemwide AutoFill menu includes a dedicated Credit Card option. This means I can access payment details instantly without switching apps.

The second breakthrough is version history for logins. In iOS 18, Apple Passwords would sometimes overwrite saved credentials before website confirmation, forcing me back to 1Password. With version history now available in iOS 26, I can recover previous versions of logins when needed. These improvements mean I haven't opened 1Password once since upgrading, making Apple Passwords my complete password management solution.
