iOS 26 Passwords App Saves Forgotten Passwords

Apple's iOS 26 update brings a crucial new feature to the Passwords app that could save users from the frustration of forgotten passwords. The update adds a 'Generated Passwords' menu that tracks passwords created but not yet saved, addressing a common pain point.

Previously, when Apple Passwords generated a new password that failed to save properly due to website crashes or protocol issues, users would lose the password and face a tedious reset process. Now, iOS 26 stores these generated passwords for 30 days in a dedicated menu accessible via the three-dot icon. The feature shows when each password was created and lets users save or delete it.

While the menu could be more prominent with a notification badge when new passwords are available, the addition represents a significant usability improvement. Users can now recover passwords that would have otherwise been lost, eliminating the need for password reset loops. This update makes Apple's built-in password manager more reliable for everyday use.
