Bloomberg reports Apple targeting October launch for new OLED iPad mini (code‑named J510). The company plans to unveil the device as early as this fall, with a retail release slated for October. Bloomberg also notes that Apple is working on an eventual OLED upgrade for the iPad Air but is not currently developing an OLED version of the base iPad, which will remain an LCD model for the foreseeable future.

A Weibo leaker, yeux1122, confirmed that the iPad mini will sport an OLED panel, but without Pro Motion and capped at a fixed 60 Hz refresh rate. Adding OLED could push the device’s price higher; the mini now starts at $599, up from $499 after Apple’s recent price increases.

Bloomberg shares Apple’s expected timeline for the rest of the iPad lineup. The entry‑level model (code‑named J581) is aimed for release in the first calendar quarter of next year, with a faster processor rather than a major redesign. New iPad Air models (J807 and J837) are on track for spring, and updated iPad Pro units are also slated for that period. Bloomberg also reiterates that Apple will update the Apple Pencil next year, potentially adding replaceable batteries.
