WhatsApp is now offering in-call controls for iPhone users to switch between the device's different Mic Modes directly from the call screen. Previously, users had to access these settings through the Control Center.

Users can find the "mic mode" option by tapping the "More" button on the WhatsApp call interface. This allows them to select from four modes: Automatic, Standard, Voice Isolation, and Wide Spectrum. These changes are applied immediately without interrupting the call and persist across future calls.

Voice Isolation prioritizes the user's voice by blocking ambient noise, while Wide Spectrum captures all ambient sounds. Automatic mode intelligently selects the best setting for the call. Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum require iOS 15 or later and are available on iPhone XR, XS, and newer. Automatic requires iOS 18 or later. The rollout is gradual.
