Apple Boosts Vapor Chamber Orders for Foldable iPhone

Apple has reportedly ramped up orders for vapor chambers, signaling the cooling technology will feature prominently in upcoming devices. Leaker Fixed Focus Digital posted on Weibo that Apple "significantly increased its total orders for vapor chambers," possibly for its first foldable iPhone and a 20th-anniversary model expected in 2027. Apple first introduced vapor chamber cooling with the iPhone 17 Pro, which addressed thermal issues from prior generations.

The order surge aligns with reports that Apple has asked suppliers to prepare around 10 million foldable iPhones, up from an earlier 7-8 million target, alongside roughly 70 million iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max units. All three models will likely use vapor chamber cooling. Sources indicate Apple has resolved earlier hinge and manufacturing-yield concerns, clearing the way for higher production targets ahead of a September debut.
