The next iPad mini with an OLED screen, codenamed J510, is reportedly very late in development and could ship as soon as October following the iPhone 18 Pro launch. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman indicates the unit must be in mass production to meet this timetable.

Pricing remains unclear, though the current iPad mini recently increased to $599. OLED panels are more expensive to produce, suggesting another price hike. The new model is rumored to feature an 8.4-inch LTPS hybrid OLED panel with a 60Hz refresh rate, lacking ProMotion.

Speculation has intensified since August 2025, when a code leak revealed plans for OLED and a new chip. By December 2025, sources claimed Apple would use the A20 chip instead of the previously rumored A19. The current model runs on an A17 Pro with a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU.
