Apple has released new beta firmware for AirPods, available to public testers. The firmware, with build number 9A5314b, supports AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max 2, mirroring the third developer beta.

This update enables public beta testers to utilize new features coming in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate. These include a refreshed AirPods interface, an Adaptive mode slider, and custom EQ support. The firmware also ensures compatibility with the new Siri AI.

To access the beta firmware, users need an iPhone, iPad, or Mac running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26 or later. Beta updates can be enabled within the AirPods settings. The firmware update process requires connecting AirPods to an Apple device and plugging it into power, with installation taking several hours.
