Ireland's Leona Maguire fired a superb nine-under-par 63 at the Women's Irish Open at the K Club in County Kildare, moving into a tie for sixth place on 11 under. Her bogey-free round included nine birdies in the first 15 holes, with a lip-out birdie putt on the 18th preventing a 62. Maguire returned to form after opening rounds of 71, delighting the home crowd.

Casandra Alexander of South Africa maintained her three-shot lead after a 69, sitting at 15 under par. Czech player Sara Kouskova carded a 67 to move into second place on 12 under, cutting Alexander's lead from five to three shots. Kajsa Arwefjaell of Sweden matched Maguire's 63 to rise to third on 13 under, joined by fellow Swedes Corinne Viden and Louise Rydqvist in the top five.

Finn Noora Komulainen shot a 66 to join Maguire on 11 under, while Anna Foster led the Irish challenge on seven under after a 66. English players Lily May Humphreys and Hannah Screen were the top English challengers on five under. Play was suspended due to heavy rain and puddles on the course, but Alexander's lead remained intact going into the final round.
