Casandra Alexander surged to a commanding lead at the Women's Irish Open with a second-round 66 at the K Club. The South African golfer carded two eagles and birdies on holes 10, 11, 17, and 18 to reach 129 for 36 holes, five shots clear of Sara Kouskova and Brianna Navarrosa. Alexander opened with a bogey-free 63 on Thursday before her eagle on the par-five 10th on Friday.

She added back-to-back birdies, dropped a shot on 13, birdied 17, and eagled the 18th to extend her lead. Canice Screene led the Irish challenge in a tie for eighth at five under after a five-under 67 featuring seven birdies and two bogeys. Aine Donegan fell to two under with a 73, while Leona Maguire dropped to two under after bogeying two of her last three holes following an opening 71.

The leaderboard shows Alexander at -15, with Kouskova and Navarrosa at -10, and Rydqvist and Viden at -9. Pettersson sits at -8, Foersterling at -7, and Urs and Fanali at -5. Humphreys and Hewson are at -4, with Dawson, Clews, Darling, and Hall at -3.

Maguire and Donegan are at -2, Foster and Wilson at -1, and Mehaffey at +4.
