Massimo De Lutiis has sealed a three‑year commitment to Australia, ending speculation of a move to Ulster. The 22‑year‑old tight‑head prop will stay with the Queensland Reds until the end of the 2029 season, positioning himself for the home World Cup next year.

De Lutiis, who weighs 126 kg, cited family ties and national ambition as deciding factors. He admitted the decision felt stressful after a week of weighing options, but now feels a weight lifted. The prop has yet to debut for the Wallabies, adding pressure to perform once fit before the World Cup fixtures begin in November.

Last season, De Lutiis appeared in nine Super Rugby Pacific games for the Reds but missed this term due to a hamstring injury. Reds coach Les Kiss praised his professionalism and said, "He's an important and respected figure in the Reds locker room." The contract strengthens the squad ahead of the 2025 campaign.

With De Lutiis locked in, the Reds can focus on integrating younger talent while maintaining forward solidity. His presence will also support the national team's preparation for the World Cup, as coach Joe Schmidt will soon step down and Les Kiss takes over. The long‑term deal signals Australia’s commitment to building a competitive back‑row core ahead.
