Real Madrid: Bellingham, Vinicius, Mbappe Not Incompatible

Jude Bellingham acknowledged the difficulty of combining with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid, stating it can be challenging when all three are on the pitch together. The trio played in "perfect" roles for their respective countries during the World Cup, but replicating that synergy in Madrid presents a greater tactical puzzle for manager Jose Mourinho.

Mbappe scored 42 goals in all competitions last season while Vinicius contributed 22, but the bigger issue has been how the pieces fit together. In 2024-25, both attackers frequently drifted toward the same areas, and although Bellingham dropped deeper to help balance the side, it reduced his goal threat. His eight goals and five assists in 40 appearances marked a decline from his debut season.

Mourinho has previously managed elite attackers successfully, leading his 2011-12 Madrid side to a La Liga record 121 goals. This time, he also has 19-year-old Yan Diomande as an additional option after the winger's breakthrough at RB Leipzig. The challenge lies not in finding attacking quality but in giving that quality enough structure to flourish.

The Portuguese coach emphasized the need for commitment and teamwork, particularly after addressing internal conflicts including a dressing-room clash between Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde that resulted in hospital treatment and 500,000 euro fines for each player.
