Conor Benn's Zuffa Switch Driven by 'Drastic' Money Difference, Family Focus

Conor Benn has switched from Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing to Dana White's Zuffa Boxing, citing a 'drastic' difference in money as the primary reason. The 29-year-old, who had been with Matchroom since turning pro in 2016, made the move in February. Hearn described the switch as a 'dagger in the heart', learning of it via his lawyer's email and calling it a 'mistake' to trust Benn.

Benn emphasized the decision was 'the best decision' for his family, stating he would do 'nothing' for their benefit. He confirmed his Zuffa deal is for one fight, reportedly worth an eight-figure fee. Benn, son of former world champion Nigel Benn, also highlighted his recent legal battles, where he paid all bills himself, and his 2022 drug test failures, which led to a two-year suspension lifted in November 2024.

He acknowledged his 'wouldn't be around today without Matchroom' but stressed the need to make the best career and family decision. Benn will fight Regis Prograis on April 11th under the Zuffa banner.
