Adam Ramsay-Peaty's struggles continued at the European Aquatics Championships as he failed to reach the 50m breaststroke semi-finals. The former Olympic and world champion finished eighth in his heat with a time of 27.34 seconds, placing 20th overall and missing out on the top 16 qualifying spots.

This follows his fifth-place finish in the 100m breaststroke and fourth in the mixed medley relay, ending his previously unbeaten European streak. Ramsay-Peaty expressed confusion and frustration with his current form, stating, "These performances are not good enough at all." He has been working on his dive with coach Lisa Bates since June, suggesting that his water entry might be the issue.

Compatriot Filip Nowacki also failed to qualify for the semi-finals, finishing 18th in the 50m breaststroke heats. Ramsay-Peaty's performance marks a significant dip from his dominant record, where he won 16 out of 16 European golds between 2014 and 2020.
