Aston Martin has unveiled a significant upgrade package for its AMR26 Formula 1 car at the Hungarian Grand Prix, described by Adrian Newey as "just the first part" of a larger development plan. The package includes a new nose, revised floor, and aerodynamic changes to the sidepods and rear.

Newey stated that further updates are planned for subsequent races, including Zandvoort and Monza/Baku. He emphasized that the current iteration is an evolution of the existing car, with the chassis and front suspension remaining the same. The delay in development was attributed to the team's new wind tunnel becoming operational later than anticipated.

While the upgrade aims to improve competitiveness, Newey acknowledged it won't immediately make Aston Martin the fastest car but represents a substantial step forward. The immediate goal is to restore "respectability" to the team's performance. A suspension failure experienced by Lance Stroll during practice is being investigated but is not believed to be directly related to the new upgrade components.
