Aston Martin Hungary Update: Parts Scrutiny

Aston Martin is pushing "flat out" to introduce a significant upgrade package for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, according to chief trackside officer Mike Krack. The team has faced a challenging start to the season, with reliability issues, particularly concerning the Honda engine interface, hindering development. They prioritized fixing these problems over performance upgrades, leading to them falling behind competitors.

The availability of parts for both cars is a major concern. Krack described it as the "one million dollar question" but expressed confidence in the production team delivering the main components, though spare parts are less certain. He acknowledged that "you will not have the full backup for everything" but emphasized that contingency plans are in place should certain parts not arrive on time.

Despite potential limitations, Krack cautioned against overblown expectations for the performance gain, noting the team is "quite far away from the front." The primary goal is to return to competitive racing and improve the car, with the team eager to see where they stand against rivals. The focus remains on getting the upgrades fitted and understanding their impact on different circuits throughout the season.
