Haas has completed its latest Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) run at Portimao with Ryo Hirakawa, Leonardo Fornaroli and Rafael Camara in action, as focus on its 2027 Formula 1 driver line-up increases. The three-day test ran from 26-28 August using Haas’ VF-25 2025 F1 car at the Portuguese venue. It follows a similar TPC test last month at Fuji with Toyota-backed drivers Sho Tsuboi and Nirei Fukuzumi.

While Oliver Bearman looks assured of retaining his place for 2027, attention has turned to Esteban Ocon’s position, with Haas making no secret of its intention to assess all options. Team principal Ayao Komatsu said the tests are part of a wider plan to evaluate interested drivers before a final decision, stressing that Haas is not in any rush and remains focused on maximizing performance from its current drivers in 2026. Komatsu noted that Haas often announces its line-up late, and a similar timeline for 2027 is not unrealistic given stable driver markets elsewhere.

He emphasized the need to provide Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon with the best possible car and set-up to get the best out of them.
