Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu reports "positive" progress in securing new sponsorship to push the American Formula 1 team's budget toward the $215 million cap. Currently F1's smallest team with just over 400 employees, Haas operates well below the limit despite a title deal with Toyota Gazoo Racing. Komatsu confirmed talks with multiple prospects, including rumored interest from BWT, Alpine's current title sponsor set to depart for Gucci in 2027. "We're talking to so many prospects; it's getting there," Komatsu said at the Madring weekend. He dismissed pink livery speculation, stating, "we're not going to have pink cars."

On driver selection for 2027, Komatsu insisted performance remains the sole criterion. Candidates include Esteban Ocon, Yuki Tsunoda, Ryo Hirakawa, Leonardo Fornaroli, and Rafael Camara. "If it's within a tenth... then affiliation package does come into play," he noted, but added, "I think we can choose by performance." Komatsu emphasized that selecting the fastest drivers motivates the 400-person workforce and maximizes championship points revenue. "One position in the championship. That's quite a lot of money, right?"
