OpenAI has banned a number of accounts that were using its AI models to generate abusive reports targeting Vietnamese public figures and platforms. The activity, dubbed "Tort Report," focused on creating short comments in English and Vietnamese to file reports against posts by independent Vietnamese media outlets on Facebook and YouTube.

These AI-generated comments were typically generic, stating that a video violated rules without providing specific evidence. The operation primarily used video titles and descriptions, not full video content. OpenAI noted that none of the targeted posts were taken down as of the report's date, and the activity was assessed as a Category 1 operation due to its lack of observed impact.

While OpenAI couldn't confirm if reports were officially filed, the targeted posts remained online, suggesting any reports made were ineffective. The operation's limited scope and lack of success in removing content highlight its minimal impact on the platforms it aimed to influence.
