Next week, ChatGPT Ads will expand to 31 European countries, including major markets like Germany, France, Spain, and Italy. Advertisers can initially access the platform through the OpenAI Ads Solutions team, agency partners, and technology partners, with self-service access via Ads Manager launching later this summer. Ads will only appear for Free and Go plan users, keeping Pro, Plus, and Enterprise subscriptions ad-free.

This expansion gives European marketers a new way to connect with users actively exploring and making decisions. People use ChatGPT with specific goals—planning trips, choosing business software, or learning new skills. ChatGPT Ads allow marketers to reach users across the customer journey and provide value during key discovery and decision-making moments.

Guided by OpenAI's ads principles, ChatGPT ensures privacy by keeping conversations private from advertisers, never selling customer data, and clearly labeling all ads. Users retain control over personalization, with ad-free paid plans available. The goal is making ads useful for users pursuing their objectives while remaining effective for businesses.

Since launching its pilot in the US in February, ChatGPT Ads has expanded to eight additional markets over six months. The European rollout represents the largest expansion yet. The platform now supports conversion optimization, geo-targeting, custom audiences, and enhanced measurement through the OpenAI Pixel, Conversions API, and third-party integrations. Tens of thousands of marketers have already advertised on the platform.
